Synopsis
Genocide is occurring in Sudan. The Devil Came On Horseback uses a trove of some 1,000 pictures taken by former US Marine Captain Brian Steidle to document the genocide and displacement of black African Sudanese by the Arab Janjaweed abetted by the Sudanese government.

Annie Sundberg
Annie Sundberg was also the co-writer/co-director/co-producer for The Trials of Darryl Hunt (2006), which screened at Sundance. It is nominated for a 2007 Independent Spirit Award, Best Documentary, and was nominated for the 2006 Sundance Grand Jury Prize. The Trials of Darryl Hunt premieres on HBO this year.
Brian Steidle
While serving six months as an unarmed military observer with the African Union in Darfur, Sudan, former U.S. Marine Captain Brian Steidle had access no journalist was afforded. Unable to intervene, he took thousands of uncompromising photographs that documented the genocide, then resigned his post and dedicated himself to exposing the magnitude of these atrocities.
Mia Farrow
Celebrated actress/activist Mia Farrow advocates for the displaced and helpless of the Sudan crisis and works for actions to end the ongoing Arab-on-Black genocide at the heart of that crisis.
David Rubenstien, Save Darfur Coalition
David Rubenstein is the executive director of the Save Darfur Coalition. He works to raise awareness about the Sudan crisis and advocates for the protection of the people of Darfur.
